Here are some of the BMP's that can not only easily conserve natural resources but can also save you some time and money.

  • Pasture Management - includes rotational grazing, maintaining a 3-4 inch stubble height, managing the application of nutrients and observation.
  • Roof Runoff Management - includes installing gutters, downspouts and outlet lines to carry clean water to a location where it will not get polluted or cause mud.
  • Heavy Use Area Protection - includes putting gravel, sand or a wood product down in a heavy use area to prevent mud from being created by the consistent use.
  • Manure Management - includes collecting manure from heavy use areas (and sometimes pastures) and storing it in a covered location to prevent the leaching of nutrients.  The stored manure can then be applied to pastures and gardens at agronomic rates.
